Class Details

Our live online electrician test prep class is designed for busy tradespeople who want to pass their licensing exam without the hassle of traveling to an in-person course. Taught by a licensed Master Electrician, the class combines live instruction, interactive Q&A, and practical exam strategies. Whether you need a quick refresher or more in-depth guidance on the NEC®, you’ll get clear explanations, useful resources, and the confidence to succeed.
  • Live online via Zoom
  • Tuesdays, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Central Time
  • Duration: 12 weeks (36 hours total)
  • Classes are recorded and students have access for 12 months
  • Dustyn Marks – Licensed Master Electrician with real-world experience
  • We Cover: NEC® Navigation, Ohm’s Law, Conductor Ampacities, Pipe Fill, Box Fill, Grounding and Bonding, Voltage Drop, Continuous/Non-Continuous Loads, Power Factor, Motors, Transformers, Load Calculations, and a lots of “mini-lessons.”

You Will Need:

  • A copy of the current NEC® code book
  • Access to a printer for worksheets and handouts
  • Real-time Q&A during class
  • Follow-up guidance available after each session

  • Electricians seeking either a refresher course, or more in-depth help to confidently pass their exam

Do I need a copy of the NEC® code book?

Yes, students are required to have the current NEC® code book for reference during class.

Can I access the classes if I miss a session?

Absolutely. All classes are recorded, and students have access to the recordings for 6 months.

Do I have to attend every class, or can I miss a session?

While live attendance is encouraged to participate in Q&A and discussions, you do not have to attend every session. Recordings are available so you can catch up on anything you miss.

How long is each class session?

Each session is 3 hours long, held on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Is this course suitable for beginners?

The course is designed for electricians at any stage — whether you need a refresher or in-depth guidance to understand the NEC® and prepare for your licensing exam.

Do I need a printer for the course?

Yes, access to a printer is recommended for worksheets and handouts provided during class.

Is there homework for this course?

No, there is no homework. However, there are worksheets that we complete together during the live class sessions to reinforce learning and practice exam-style questions.

How do I join the live Zoom sessions?

After registering, you’ll receive an email with the Zoom link and instructions to join each session.

How do I access the class recordings?

You can access them anytime by logging into your account and navigating to Account > My Exams and Courses. Recordings are available only to students who have purchased the course.

Good morning. I am a refrigeration service technician. 80 percent of my job is electrical this includes schematic reading and I sucked at it. I needed help and smarter sparky is who I choose. He started with why mechanical things have schematics the symbols and how they match with the real parts. He used working diagrams and patiently walked me through them. His knowledge of electric, electrical components and controls is excellent. I became a better technician with his help. As I move on in this field he we be a constant source of electrical knowledge.
